About The Role
The Private Members Club Chef is the key person who works alongside the Senior Kitchen Managers and is responsible for ensuring that standards are maintained for the kitchen. It is a vital part of the position to keep food to the best standard potentially possible.
It is vital to keep the staff moral high with a firm but fair hand on the whole team. Productivity and confidence levels will rise with a highly motivated team as will employee retention.
SALARY: £42000 per annum
HOURS: Full Time - 40 Hours - Weekend work included
Responsibilities
- Produce all necessary food for every service as required, effectively managing the team and department under the direction of the Chefs
- Assist and support all Chefs in ordering and stock control
- Complete monthly stock takes with support from other Chefs
- Maintain quality and quantity standards, including portion control and product freshness
- Understand and monitor gross profit percentages (GP%) for all services and dishes
- Ensure the kitchen and all food service areas are cleaned to the agreed standard
- Assist in writing rotas for specific kitchen sections
- Cover staff sickness and follow company policies on absenteeism
- Train and develop junior team members
- Comply with food hygiene regulations and HACCP procedures
- Follow Health and Safety Policies and Procedures; maintain COSHH training
- Keep all kitchen equipment clean and in good working order
- Maintain clean uniforms and cloths; ensure sufficient stock is available
- Handle investigations related to disciplinary procedures when required
- Ensure all staff are appropriately dressed and maintain a professional appearance
- Enforce high standards of personal hygiene among staff
- Conduct and report on kitchen equipment audits
- Handle customer complaints according to company policy
- Lead the team by example in all aspects of the role
- Be aware of and act in line with Fire Safety Procedures at all times
- Attend all statutory training as required by the company
- Carry out any reasonable request made by a member of the management team
