We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Scientist to work as part of a multi-discipline team, ensuring we meet environmental compliance standards for our water recycling centres across Wiltshire, Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

This role involves a mixture of office and field-based work. The role is primarily based in Wells and the surrounding Mendip area and will involve travel across the wider regions of Somerset, Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.
What you'll do
Our Scientists help ensure that we not only comply with all the regulatory requirements but also make sure there is no detrimental impact on the environment through our operations.
You will join the Northern Science team, taking responsibility for ensuring water recycling compliance and process performance with your local operations team.
In addition, there will be regular engagement with colleagues across the wider business on a variety of interesting projects.
As a Process Scientist, you will ensure compliance with quality standards at water recycling centres, including numerical, descriptive and flow permits. You will plan and install measures to improve quality and lead initiatives to reduce operational costs.

What you'll need
You will need to be an experienced Process Scientist, who has experience monitoring and optimising processes to meet regulatory permits, understands the importance of environmental regulations and has a methodical and analytical approach to your work. You will also act as a role model for health and safety.
Previous water industry experience would be ideal. However, we know that there are great waste treatment scientists who work in other sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, and environmental companies, who could transfer their process science experience into the water industry.
