Procurement Analyst

We are looking for a Procurement Analyst to join the National Theatre Procurement Team.

The National Theatre offers the widest access to high quality theatre to millions of audience members across the UK and around the world every year and this opportunity is an exciting moment for the National as it sets up a Procurement function for the first time. This role will help to develop an industry-leading commercial function that will help to ensure that we can deliver great theatre into the future.

Working with the Head of Procurement and the Procurement Manager, you will ensure we have the right supplier and spend data, a complete and accurate contract register and can measure our performance against our departmental targets and objectives. In addition, you will help to roll out the new procurement policy and processes. You will play a key role in undertaking due diligence checks on new suppliers prior to being added to the finance system. You will support the delivery of procurements across the NT from planning to execution and you will work across the NT as an ambassador for the value procurement can bring to the organisation. This is a new role in a new team and you will have a unique opportunity to shape the agenda and the impact that your role will make.

This will not be an ordinary procurement function. The team we create together won’t be governed by arbitrary rules and inflexible thresholds. Our approach to procurement will be dynamic, pragmatic, fleet of foot, data driven and, above all, collaborative. Together, we will ensure that Procurement plays its part in creating world-class theatre that entertains and inspires.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Demonstrable experience of analysing and presenting large volumes of sometimes incomplete data and of maintaining spend databases
• Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrable passion for organising and analysing data, identifying trends and actionable insights
• Exceptional knowledge of key Microsoft tools, particularly Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables, charts etc) and Powerpoint
• Has conducted supplier due diligence including interpreting supplier credit checks
• Has worked with supplier contracts and understands key terms
