About the team you’ll be part of
Ofcom’s Commercial Team provides valued and effective commercial and procurement support to the organisation. The team has significant commercial influence and plays a key role in ensuring that Ofcom continues to operate efficiently and delivers value for money.
As a statutory corporation, Ofcom is bound by public procurement law and adherence to these regulations and guidelines is essential. Whilst Ofcom has its own procurement policies and processes the Commercial Team also works collaboratively with other public bodies and organisations where there are benefits in doing so.
The Commercial Team operates as part of the Finance Team, led by the Finance Director. The Finance Team is part of the wider Corporate Group overseen by the Corporate Group Director.
The purpose and scope of the role
Working as part of the Commercial Team and reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Senior Procurement Manager will provide professional and effective procurement and commercial support to the business. You will be responsible for strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract implementation across specific spend portfolios, in addition to building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Current costs, controls and processes are to be continually analysed and optimised.
As a key member of the team, you will contribute to achieving the team’s overall objectives of ensuring value for money, high levels of compliance and delivering an excellent service to our stakeholders.
