Skills, Qualifications & Experience
As our new Procurement Officer/Buyer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our projects run smoothly, efficiently and on budget. Your day-to-day will include:
- Procuring construction materials and plant for allocated contracts, with potential to expand into subcontract procurement as you grow with us.
- Evaluating supplier quotations and ensuring compliance with specifications and budgets.
- Raising purchase orders using our COINS system, following internal processes.
- Resolving invoice queries and supplier disputes with a positive, solutions focused approach.
- Allocating and reporting on costings.
- Managing and monitoring supplier performance and helping to build a robust supply chain.
- Supporting our site commercial and accounting teams and liaising with site teams daily.
- Assisting our tendering and estimating team as needed.
What we’re looking for?
We’re seeking someone who is enthusiastic, organised and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in construction procurement.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent negotiation abilities and attention to detail.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and the initiative to solve problems.
- A willingness to broaden their knowledge and take on new challenges.
- A full, valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with computers (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
