We have an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Operations Manager to join our business at this exciting time, as we continue to scale.


Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the role is responsible for managing the day-to-day procurement activities that support the efficient operation of HQ & ENODA’s future manufacturing site in the UK.


This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services, working closely with R&D, production, quality & warehouse teams.


This is a critical position, ensuring all internal and external stakeholders are managed effectively. The post holder will be pivotal in implementing best practice processes and helping satisfy the departmental needs across the business.

You'll spend your time:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and equipment required for production
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, and delivery capabilities. Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts and agreements
  • Leading the execution of purchase orders (POs) and ensuring material availability in alignment with production schedules
  • Overseeing procurement of direct and indirect goods (raw materials, consumables, packaging, tooling, etc.)
  • Assessing and mitigating risks associated with the procurement process, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or changes in market conditions that could impact the availability or cost of materials
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure that purchased materials and components meet the required quality standards and specifications
  • Assisting with the implementation of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and driving the use and synergies of other procurement systems (e.g., acquisition capture, e-Sourcing tools)
  • Identifying opportunities for process optimisation and implementing best practices to enhance procurement efficiency, streamline operations, and achieve cost savings
  • Overseeing inbound logistics for the timely delivery of materials from suppliers & managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and freight forwarders to ensure minimal disruption in the Supply Chain
  • Helping to develop and manage a growing procurement department and build a collaborative, fast-paced & highly skilled team


The key experience we're looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the electronics manufacturing industry
  • Expertise in developing and implementing processes & strategic initiatives to optimise cost, quality, and delivery of materials and components, including the required knowledge of how stores/ goods-in liaise with Procurement
  • Proficiency in cost analysis, price negotiation, and cost reduction strategies while ensuring quality standards are met
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes, materials, and components, as well as knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards
  • Strong knowledge of operational procurement processes and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics)
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, manage a procurement team, and interact with suppliers and stakeholders.


The following would be advantageous:

  • CIPS Level 4 or higher or a similar qualification is desirable
  • Experience of working in SME’s as well as larger Tier 1/ OEM businesses
  • 10+ years of Supply Chain experience, preferably covering operational-based requirements

This role is based onsite at Quartermile in Edinburgh.
