The Job

As a Procurement Senior Contract Specialist for EMEA, you'll be responsible for overseeing the agreement lifecycle for different categories. In this role, you'll work in cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders within AVEVA, to develop best-in-class practices for negotiation, compliance, supplier management, responsible sourcing and relationship-building. Reporting upstream to Finance, our team has a strong focus on controls and compliance, aiming to deliver value across the business and supply chain.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Interact with key stakeholders in identifying business needs, building relationships and selling the features and benefits of early procurement involvement.
  • Develop detailed sourcing and category plans to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage preparation, implementation and execution of procurement processes.
  • Implement procurement processes to ensure efficiency, cost savings and best practices.
  • Work with finance team throughout the procurement cycle to assist with forecasting and budgeting.
  • Perform sourcing, liaising and negotiating with new and existing suppliers to improve business.
  • Re-negotiate contracts with suppliers to produce better savings and further value for spend.
  • Review supplies, works and services to ensure compliance with company procedures and best procurement practice.
  • Provide updates about procurement related progress and potential delays to internal customers / functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
  • Analyze market and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.
  • Manage all communication and negotiate with suppliers on price and delivery terms to reduce supply shortfalls, excess and costs.
  • Provide analysis on detail cost comparison.
  • Develop, process and authorize all purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor all Purchase Orders and maintain effective relationship with suppliers and procurement peers.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with new suppliers and manage items information, and update purchasing data in ERP.
  • Perform troubleshoot on all invoices and price issues along with delivery related problems.
  • Evaluate performance of all carriers, suppliers and goods delivery and make recommendations to improve processes for international buying process.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal customers / functional stakeholders
  • Monitor service delivery progress and take necessary actions to ensure timely availability of services to minimize impact on business.
  • Evaluate all bids, contracts and suppliers' agreements and ensure accuracy and price to be the same on Purchase Orders.

Key relationships

  • The role will report to Procurement Manager EMEA
  • Key relationships will include:
  • Members of Global Procurement unit
  • Members of Finance, Legal & Commercial Operations units
  • Global Process Owner – Procure to Pay (GPO P2P)
  • Senior members from other business units

Requirements

  • Experience of process standardisation within a large, multi-layered, global organisation
  • Experience of working with diversified pool of suppliers
  • Experience of transformational programmes beneficial
  • Familiar with Procure-To-Pay process within ERP system
  • Positive attitude and comfortable managing ambiguity
  • An ability to think innovatively and creatively when faced with difficult situations
  • Challenging style, able to deal confidently with objections and difficulties
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong personal resilience
  • Experience of Oracle Fusion, Vendor Master Data, Trade Automation, Readsoft or Concur beneficial
  • Analytical, results-orientated
  • Understanding of IT interaction between process and related systems
  • A strong procurement background with additional supply chain experience
  • University Degree

Hybrid working

By default, employees are expected to be in their local AVEVA office three days a week, but some positions are fully office-based. Roles supporting particular customers or markets are sometimes remote.
