Position:
The role is responsible for supporting the review, reconciliation and analysis of the net revenue of Czarnikow’s business. To maintain and develop efficient controls for new business and enhance existing controls where necessary. To liaise with traders and operators to understand variances against forecast costs, preparing commentaries to explain significant movements and events.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Review variances against trade forecast costs and liaise with operators and traders (locally and overseas) to understand and provide commentary on these variances
- Ensure that shipments reflect the relevant contracts, investigating exceptions where necessary
- Ensure data integrity between the operation and accounting systems, investigating and raising exceptions where necessary
- Maintain ownership of trade accruals
- Resolve queries with Front Office, Operations and Accounts
- Provide timely and accurate actual revenue reporting detailing the main revenue drivers for the month
- Monitor inter-company balances
- Review the trading balance sheet, paying particular attention to large or unusual balances
- Reconcile designated broker accounts against the ledger
- Identify control improvements and efficiency opportunities around the existing processes
- Assist with the development / testing / implementation of new systems
- Support and cover Product Controller duties when required
- Support the external audit process
- To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organizational goals.

- To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures.

- Knowledge of Power BI and manipulation of large data sets.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills – ability to keep meticulous records.
- Business level fluency in English (both written and verbal).
- Advanced communication skills.
- Strong I.T. skills including proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Self-starter with the ability to use initiative for problem solving.
- Resourceful, innovative and proactive.
- Personable with the ability to build relationships and communicate with all levels both internally and externally.
- Willingness to undertake professional accounting qualification.
