Role Requirements
As a Product Designer, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and development of rotationally moulded products across existing and emerging markets. From ideation to execution, you’ll be involved in the full product lifecycle – from early concept generation and CAD modelling through to tool design, product testing, and post-tool refinement.
Essential
· 3D computer aided design (Autodesk Inventor or similar)
· Good communication skills
· Project management / highly organised
· Preparing design/technical progress reports
· Competent in Excel / Word / PowerPoint
· Degree level qualification in Product Design or similar
· Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in product design
· Full UK Driving licence
· Experience with plastic moulding processes (rotational, injection, etc.)
Desirable
· Product development of roto-moulded products
· Knowledge of tooling design & construction
· Product development of injection-moulded products
· Preparing and giving presentations
· Manufacturing environment experience
Role Responsibilities
· Generate and communicate innovative new product design concepts.
· Support early-stage research and insight gathering to inform product development.
· Create and develop 3D CAD models for new and existing products.
· Design complex product assemblies with attention to function, manufacturability, and durability.
· Interpret and work to detailed design specifications and project requirements.
· Design tooling for new product development and product modifications.
· Liaise with internal and external toolmakers to coordinate tool manufacture and modifications.
· Support the R&D Manager in overseeing product development projects from concept through to tooling and release.
· Design and produce prototypes, from small-scale samples to full-scale functional models.
· Assist with product testing and validation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
· Support the preparation of product release documentation and coordinate product launch activities.
· Provide technical support, drawings, and other R&D-related inputs to assist functions across the business. Collaboration with all departments is essential.
· To abide by the Company Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) policies.
