Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Product Integration Engineer - Interiors to be based at our customer’s site in Gaydon.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The Role:
The Body Interior Product Engineer is a new role that has been created to lead a transformational shift in performance of the Vehicle Programme Delivery Process Chain and to be an interface between the Body Interior Programme Leader, External Engineering Service Provider, Core Body Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing functions who are critical supply partners to create and deliver the final completed product.
The role will involve working within the Body Interior commodity area, namely Cabin and Safety. The specialist focus of the role will support in coordination and influencing critical Commodity delivery through working in conjunction with the External Engineering Service Provider to develop overall delivery plan, prioritisation of backlog, individual sprint goals and validation of quality of event of sprint outcomes.
The Body Interior Product Engineer will also engage with internal Core Engineering resource where required and will ensure governance of the associated commodity creation and delivery system. The role holder will have a systems view of the entire delivery landscape for their Commodities and Systems and will work closely with the Programme.
Area of Responsibility
Product Engineer Interiors will provide support for their sub system of the Body commodity throughout the lifecycle
· Responsible for supervising Engineering Service Provider delivery of their sub-system through sprint planning, prioritisation of backlog and validation of sprint outcomes
· Support for x-functional integration and support to deliver C-T-Q targets.
· Ensures seamless integration between programme and External Engineering Delivery Partner and/or CoC including support for target cascades and Jaguar review and approval of virtual and physical validation
· Support engineering sign off of their sub-system.
· Assists with budget tracking with External Engineering Delivery Partner and/or CoCs and Functions to create defined content, on time against programme deliverables
· Delivers business evaluation and creates programme recommendation on content changes / assumptions to optimise programme performance
· Ensures Engineering Service Provider leadership of CCDS Operation and Governance (incl. APQP) ensuring adherence to PSW
· Identify and flag major conflicts (C-T-Q) to Programme Leader
· Issue Management and release workflow’s x-functional provision of support to Engineering Service Provider
· Ensures achievement of Quality targets for owned content throughout lifecycle
In addition, the Product Integration Engineer role will provide support on:
· Technical integration & Integrated Test Plan issue resolution
· Attribute target delivery, cascading into system and commodity targets and assessment
· Resolution of technical issues
· Part release, BoM Validation, generation
· In-cycle commodity and system quality resolution
Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
• Experience of engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programs
• Project management
• Coordination of multifunctional teams
• Comprehensive MS office
• Strong analytical skills able to use data to drive analysis and results.
• Capable of seeing the 'bigger picture' and thinking strategically
• Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Reporting and Presentation experience
Desirable:
• Experience of delivering and developing technical products
• Experience in the delivering technical products including physical and software engineering
• Experience of module team delivery
• Understanding of automotive industry
• Agile methodology exposure
• Proficient in JIRA and Confluence
