We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Here's something different: a role where you get the best of both worlds. Our Auto Finance team operates like a start-up – cross-functional, self-sufficient, and moving fast – but with the backing of a profitable, fast-growing bank. If you've ever wanted to build and scale a disruptive product without the typical start-up risks, this is it.
We're not just another car finance provider. We're reimagining the entire experience – bringing certainty to partners and creating journeys so smooth that customers barely notice the finance part. After three years of steady growth, we're ready to shift into high gear, and we need a Product Manager who can help us get there.
As our Auto Finance Product Manager, you'll own the entire product roadmap for one of Zopa's most exciting growth areas. This isn't a narrow, specialised role – you'll tackle everything from big strategic questions ("How do we disrupt the auto finance industry?") to tactical improvements that move the needle today.
You'll be the conductor of a complex orchestra, aligning broker, dealer, and direct-to-consumer channels while keeping the wider business in sync. Success here means real impact: every improvement you make directly influences our originations and helps more people get the cars they need.
A Day In The Life
- Own the growth story: Shape and deliver the Auto Finance roadmap that scales our originations to meet ambitious targets
- Be the voice of Auto Finance across Zopa, ensuring alignment with business-wide initiatives
- Drive improvements across all channels – broker, dealer, and direct-to-consumer
- Build at start-up speed: Work hand-in-hand with engineering to ship major features, anticipating risks before they become problems
- Balance the next 6 weeks with the next 6 months, keeping momentum while building for scale
- Make decisions fast, test faster, and scale what works
- Turn insight into action: Dive deep into data from multiple sources to uncover opportunities others miss
- Transform complex analysis into clear deliverables that move the business forward
- Obsess over journey conversion – your north star metric
- Connect the dots: Partner daily with our Head of Sales and Credit Strategy Manager to align commercial and risk perspectives
- Collaborate closely with our Engineering Manager to coordinate seamless delivery
- Translate between technical and commercial teams, and even external partners
About You
- You're a builder at heart. You've shipped customer-facing products that made a real difference, whether building from scratch or transforming existing ones
- You can point to specific metrics you've moved and explain exactly how you did it
- You understand that great products come from hundreds of small decisions made well
- You're customer-obsessed (really). You know that loving customers isn't just about being nice – it's about deeply understanding their problems
- You're equally comfortable analysing data patterns and sitting down with customers for in-depth conversations
- You can synthesise multiple sources of insight into clear product decisions
- You bias towards action: You'd rather ship something imperfect and learn than debate endlessly
- You know how to balance speed with quality, and when each matters most
- You see constraints as creative challenges, not roadblocks
- You're a natural collaborator: When asked about your team, you immediately think of engineers and designers, not just other PMs
- You've worked in cross-functional squads and know how to get the best from diverse perspectives
- You can influence without authority and bring people along on the journey
- Bonus points for: Fintech experience (though great product thinking trumps domain knowledge)
- Experience in lending, credit, or financial products
- A track record of building habit-forming products
- Stories about products you've built that you're genuinely proud of
We're on the move!
Towards the end of 2025 Zopa will be relocating to a brand-new headquarters at 20 Water Street in Canary Wharf. The 44,000 square foot workspace will foster collaboration and inspire creativity for our 900 employees amidst our 2025 growth blitz.

We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week.
