Description
Product Managers are responsible for the quality of digital products. They maintain an in-depth knowledge of user needs and business goals to set goals and priorities for product development.
Product Managers as youd expect focus on the full lifecycle of one specific product but need to demonstrate agile working across a range of technical and non-technical teams to balance user and business requirements for their product. They generally use agile working methods and are responsible for the strategic and financial priorities of a project.
Key skills
Working in this role requires a high level of communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities well. A Product Manager need to maintain a user focussed approach to ensure product success while working within the operational restrictions of the business (such as budget and technical capacity).
Product Managers do not necessarily need a high level of technical skills depending on the organisation they work in but a high level understanding of the technology being used and the impact of these choices on their overall project is needed.
