Your new role - As our Product Manager for Overleaf, you will be part of our global Product Management team. The Product Manager will partner closely with Engineering, Analytics and UX to shape, prioritise, and deliver high-impact product initiatives that enhance user experience and drive business outcomes. You'll be responsible for defining strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring Overleaf continues to be loved and used by the scientific community
Product Management
What you’ll be doing
- Act as a trusted product expert with deep knowledge of the business, customer needs, and technology.
- Provide clear visibility into the product roadmap and inspire confidence across stakeholders.
- Define and track measures of success and regularly report performance.
- Apply practical, fit-for-purpose product management methodologies.
Vision, Strategy, and Prioritisation:
- Drive long-term product vision and roadmap aligned with growth, customer satisfaction, and competitiveness.
- Use data and customer insights to identify innovation opportunities and guide prioritization.
- Monitor performance and market trends to inform strategy and optimize features.
Product Development and Practice:
- Lead the full product lifecycle from ideation to sunset, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Generate, validate, and document product ideas and requirements (e.g., PRDs, epics, user stories).
- Ensure value delivery through validation and foster collaboration across product teams.
User Experience and Customer Focus:
- Collaborate with UX, support, and sales teams to integrate customer feedback and research into design.
- Conduct client meetings or site visits to inform product improvements.
Product Success:
- Support successful adoption of products through collaboration with Customer Success and Support.
- Create adoption materials like training, documentation, and webinars.
- Assist in go-to-market efforts, including RFPs, demos, and client engagements.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Experience in software product management, with a strong track record in both discovery and delivery phases.
- Problem-solving expertise, with the ability to navigate complex challenges, assess risks, and deliver effective solutions.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, using product management tools and frameworks to align teams and drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication abilities, including presentation, written communication, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Highly organized and self-directed, able to manage priorities and work independently.
- Adaptability, with experience adjusting to evolving project requirements.
- Curiosity and passion for innovation, staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Additional highly desirable, but not essential criteria:
- Experience using Overleaf or other scientific writing products.
- Experience in and/or domain knowledge of academic research and writing.
- Experience in developing products used by researchers and scientists
