Job Description
Product Manager: Sanction Screening
We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead our Sanction Screening initiatives, ensuring Checkout.com stays at the forefront of compliance while delivering seamless experiences for businesses and their customers. You’ll develop and enhance our real-time screening capabilities, working cross-functionally to create effective and efficient solutions with compliance, engineering, analytics, and operations teams.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about building products that directly impact financial security, regulatory compliance, and user experience. It requires a strong product mindset, a deep understanding of financial crime regulations, and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the sanction screening product roadmap, ensuring compliance with evolving global regulations while maintaining an efficient customer experience.
- Define product requirements by understanding the needs of compliance teams, operational workflows, and business goals.
- Work closely with compliance, engineering, analytics, and operations teams to develop and refine solutions.
- Improve and optimize screening capabilities to enhance detection accuracy while reducing unnecessary friction.
- Stay ahead of industry changes, ensuring our products align with evolving global sanctions frameworks (OFAC, EU, UK, UN, etc.).
- Drive data-informed decision-making, leveraging analytics, machine learning, and rule-based approaches to improve performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure best-in-class compliance practices.
- Balance risk, operational efficiency, and customer experience by making thoughtful trade-offs that align with business objectives, always in collaboration with compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- 3-5 years of product management experience, ideally in fintech, payments, compliance, or risk-related domains.
- Experience working on financial crime prevention products (e.g., sanction screening, transaction monitoring, fraud detection, or AML solutions).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive insights.
- A collaborative approach, with experience working cross-functionally across product, compliance, engineering, and operations.
- A customer-first mindset, ensuring solutions balance compliance, efficiency, and user experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority and build strong relationships.
- A passion for learning and staying up to date on regulatory trends and emerging technologies.
