The team you’ll be joining

You will join a dynamic team of product and design professionals focused on delivering extraordinary value for EML. Our commitment is to build a single secure global payments platform that provides our customers with exceptional products and services that offer intuitive, effortless and engaging user experiences.


The Role

As a Product Owner at EML Payments, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of effective and timely fraud detection and prevention capabilities, that mitigates risk and delivers a seamless customer experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams by implementing adequate screening, identifying and preventing ongoing fraudulent transactions that reduces financial losses, enhances security, and maintains customer trust.


Fraud: Real time detection, prevention across, card, merchant, web and apps. Implementing fraud metrics, monitoring & red flags across ongoing transactions, cross-border activity, rapid reloads, diverse funding methods. Monitoring transactions to improve detection, as well as identifying discrepancies in customer information.


Screening: Set up and ongoing monitoring to include Name Screening (Sanctions, PEPs, Payer, Payee, Adverse Media), Transaction Screening, alerts, and white/blacklisting.


KYB/KYC: Setting up Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Customer (KYC) in accordance with regional regulation that checks, collects and verifies information about both businesses and individuals to prevent financial crimes like money laundering and fraud, ensuring compliance with regional regulations. Integrate with clients via a reliance model where appropriate.


Limits & Controls: Implement a range of measures that manage and control the risk of fraud and money laundering by implementing limits on funding, purchasing, and reloading, spending limits, controls on cash access and geographical constraints.


Transaction Monitoring: Setting up rules and alerts that continuously monitor transactions made that help identify suspicious patterns indicative of money laundering or fraud. Implementation of case management escalation to authorities in line with local regulation and compliance


What you’ll do

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and communicate the vision and strategy for any defend and protect capabilities, ensuring alignment with EML Payments’ broader business objectives and local compliance and regulation.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed product roadmap that outlines features, milestones, and timelines.


Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., technical, design, finance & fraud ops) and external stakeholders (e.g., fraud authorities) to gather requirements and feedback for product development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with any other third parties to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing success of the defend and protect functionality.


Product Development & Execution:

  • Partner with technical and design teams to translate product ideas into actionable user stories and deliver high-quality product features.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle, ensuring features are delivered on time and meet customer needs while adhering to EML Payments' standards for quality and scalability.


Customer Experience & Value Proposition:

  • Focus on providing a seamless, user-friendly experience for customers, making it simple to leverage third party capabilities where possible.
  • Drive high levels of engagement and satisfaction by ensuring the defend and protect experience is seamless and straight forward to both customers, card users and third-party authorities.


Data Analysis & Insights:

  • Leverage customer and data to make informed product decisions, optimise program performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on program performance, including customer participation, transaction trends, and feedback.


Market Research & Competitive Analysis:

  • Monitor industry trends, local regulation & compliance requirements to ensure EML Payments stays ahead of market shifts and continues to offer an accurate and timely fraud detection capabilities.


Partner Engagement:

  • Develop a deep understanding of business goals of partners and integrate these into the program to create mutual value.
  • Offer support and guidance to partners, ensuring they have the tools and resources to successfully promote and participate in the program.


Subject Matter Expert:

  • Consult with regional product and sales teams to identify new features and sales opportunities.
  • Be the subject matter expert on the platform capabilities as part of larger sales opportunities.


What you’ll bring

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally within fintech, having implemented effective, defend and protect capabilities. Experience working with external partners and authorities and creating value-driven partnerships.


Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage both internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to utilise data and metrics to drive product decisions.
  • Strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with short-term execution, prioritising initiatives effectively.


Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Confluence.
  • Understanding of payment solutions, fraud detection tooling, and data management.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field.
