Who we are looking for:

As a Production Group Leader, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and capacity of the company’s manufacturing processes, ensuring all manufacturing and production jobs and associated activities are completed in accordance with the Time, Cost & Quality requirements needed to meet customer’s expectations.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee and manage the production process, ensuring safety, efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Communicate with all departments and co-ordinates to ensure smooth operations.
  • Planning, scheduling, and reviewing workload to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Engagement and alignment: Effectively communicate the values and strategic visions of the company to team members.
  • Champion health and safety initiatives, driving the Company’s Let’s Make It Home safety initiative.
  • Ensure OEE and other measurement tools are accurately reported, and targets achieved with action plans instigated where necessary.
  • Supervise plan adherence within the area to process controls, TPM, in-process checks and MRP system booking. This includes all documentation, audit and sign-off.
  • Ensure accuracy, adherence and diligence to company operating systems and promote ongoing development of systems. Produce weekly reports detailing outstanding system items to be addressed, ensuring smooth running and accurate reporting of area.
  • Manage all aspects of people management in accordance with company policies and employment legislation.
  • Identify training needs of self and others with area of responsibility.
  • Ensure successful delivery and implementation of training activities through agreed methods, in line with operational requirements.
  • Ensure security of Company equipment, site and facilities at all times.


SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Support, contribute and Develop Health, safety and Environmental action plans, agreed by the Company to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Ensuring the introduction of appropriate measures to address highlighted issues and concerns and thus respecting all legal and Policy requirements, meeting required standards.


DELIVERY

  • Undertake production planning for the area, including ‘bottle neck’ management and recovery planning.
  • Manage inventory levels with the area and negotiate strategic stockholding with internal / external customers / suppliers, protecting on-time delivery.


QUALITY

  • Consistently achieve the Quality Standard as determined by the Customer, understanding and adhering to the Company’s Quality Procedures and Standards, thereby ensuring continued relevant standard registration.


COST

  • Control all expenditure within allocated area, using PDCA principles and contribute to budgeting process.
  • Report monthly on the cost saving improvements made within the area.
  • Calculate and develop KPI’s in line with Company annual Budget requirements.
  • Investigate and understand operating requirements of plant machinery and processes.


What you bring:

  • Previous experience of key performance indicators i.e.SQDC
  • Proven experience in delivering to employee Health and Safety
  • Proven experience in a production leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of assembly processes and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with business processes such as supply chain management and quality control.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve production efficiency.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.

Hours of work:

Hours of work will be 39 hours per week, including a 20-minute paid break.

  • Monday – Thursday 6am -2pm & Fridays 6am-1pm
