Key Responsibilities

• Assembly, calibration, and testing of radiation detection systems, ensuring precision, repeatability, and compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
• Design and implement test methodologies to ensure purchased components and final products meet performance specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D and new product development teams to ensure design for manufacturability and smooth product introduction.
• Apply structured root cause problem-solving techniques, owning issues through to resolution and communicating progress clearly.
• Drive lean process design and implementation, using Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies to deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, yield, and cycle time.
• Develop and maintain metrics that reflect process and product health, with regular reporting and continuous improvement targets.
• Working with suppliers to validate new parts/products and ensure quality of existing products.
• Work with the product owners to ensure seamless product delivery. E.g. Processing sales orders, ensuring Sage codes and BOMs are updated and maintained.
• Manage stock control of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure production continuity, minimize waste, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Lead yield analysis, process optimisation, and throughput maximisation initiatives.
• Act as a change agent, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• This is a role for a self-starter, requiring knowledge in lean manufacturing, process optimisation, and high-tech electronic device production.
• The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, and throughput, and will play a key role in driving cultural and operational excellence across the business.
  
  

Desirable attributes

• Radiation safety certification or training.
• Experience with Sage.
  
  

Education/ Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing or lean process engineering role, ideally in semiconductor or high-tech electronic device manufacturing.
• HNC/Degree qualified in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field is desirable but not essential.
• Proven track record of delivering lean manufacturing projects and using Six Sigma or equivalent toolsets.
• Strong background in test design, calibration, and electronic assembly.
• Deep expertise in root cause analysis, process control, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Self-starting, proactive, and capable of hitting the ground running with minimal supervision.
