Rotational Shifts - 2 weeks dayshift and 2 weeks nightshift (The successful hires will need to be flexible to complete mix of day & night shift patterns)
Hours of Work:
2 weeks Dayshift 7.30am to 5.18pm (Mon - Wed) 7:30am to 5.06pm (Thur)
& 2 weeks night shift 23.00pm to 8.00am (Mon to Thur)
As a Production Specialist you will support the Production Team Leaders to support the teams of Production Associates working at our Raytheon UK Glenrothes Manufacturing site. The team produce high quality electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, achieving output, quality, and safety targets.
The Production Specialist may be the Lead Associate for all production work in the Glenrothes factory on that shift, and would be the focal point for production, quality, and personnel queries.
This role includes hands-on building and / or testing as well as co-ordinating and expediting tasks.
Main Duties:
Assisting the Team Leader of a team of Production Associates.
Tasks could include:
- Deployment of people in support of production targets
- Ensuring associates follow work instructions precisely
- Effective communications and handover to and from other shifts
- Management and control of cross-training / training matrix for associates
- Chairperson for daily team start-up meeting
- Assisting with timesheet approval
- Assisting with the organisation of overtime and support
- 5S ownership
- Safety ownership
- Identify and participate in process and quality improvement actions
- Work with Team Leader in setting and managing daily / weekly Production targets
- Kit planning - Communications with Planning and Material Control
- Assisting the Team Leader with control of high mix / high changeover / frequently changing priorities
- Expediting work through different stages of production to achieve targets
- Assisting the Team Leader with:
- Recovery of production downtime issues
- WIP Control / Aged WIP
- Management of defective material
- Management of consumables to support production – communications with Material Control
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Previous relevant experience e.g. from a Factory, Engineering or Manufacturing environment
- IT literate – Microsoft Office skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, MS Teams
- The successful hire will need to successfully complete background checks for BPSS baseline
Desirable:
- SVQ Level 3 in Operational Management or equivalent
- Electronics / electro-mechanical production experience
- Good organisational and communication skills
- A disciplined and determined approach
- Experience in using SAP / shop floor control systems
