What you’ll be responsible for
To operate Water Treatment Works and associated water pumping stations to company BMS and Health & Safety requirements.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Taking responsibility for operating sites inline with company policies and procedures to maintain a high standard and compliant with all BMS and Health and safety requirements.
- Controlling chemical and other stock levels and consumables by control and management of purchasing via SAP. Monitoring and controlling expenditure to meet budgetary targets
- Liaising and coordinating with the area Supervisor and team members on operating activities and continuous improvement for the area
- To liaise with ME&I (Mechanical, Electrical and instrumentation) crafts team on revenue and reactive capital maintenance work
- Liaising and planning work with supervisors and operatives to ensure uninterrupted supply when plant shutdowns are required for maintenance and other associated work required on site
- Taking responsibility for personal and colleagues’ safety through compliance with company Health and Safety procedures
- Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation
- Understanding and adhering to Business management system requirements to ensure audit compliance
- Taking ownership of sites, ensuring house-keeping standards are maintained and defects reported
- Willing to develop and learn within the role and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites
- Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business

About You
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Water
- Experience gained in the industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all H&S issues
- Computer systems literate
- Awareness of regulatory bodies such as DWI and Environment Agency/NRW
- Dealing with control of abstraction under licence at raw water intakes
- Dealing with discharge consent licence for all environmental discharges
Good to know
- 37hrs Monday – Friday (08:00 - 16:00)
- The successful candidate will be required to participate in 1 in 4 Standby, weekend working is included when on standby.
