Responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload of complex professional indemnity matters, advising clients on liability, coverage, and risk issues.

• Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and court documents, liaising with insurers, experts, counsel, and stakeholders.

• Work closely with partners and senior associates, delegating tasks to junior lawyers and trainees, supporting their development.

• Contribute to business development initiatives, management information, and compliance with client SLAs and internal policies.

• Apply commercial awareness and independent judgment to technically challenging insurance and professional risk claims.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience, ideally with professional indemnity expertise in construction-related claims.

• Strong understanding of insurance litigation, policy coverage analysis, and relationships between insurers, brokers, and lawyers.

• Excellent communication, analytical, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Experience with high-value claims, professional risk matters, and exposure to reinsurance or property damage claims is advantageous.

• Previous secondments or experience within an insurance organisation are desirable but not essential.
