Responsibilities
Manage a personal caseload of complex professional indemnity matters, advising clients on liability, coverage, and risk issues.
Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and court documents, liaising with insurers, experts, counsel, and stakeholders.
Work closely with partners and senior associates, delegating tasks to junior lawyers and trainees, supporting their development.
Contribute to business development initiatives, management information, and compliance with client SLAs and internal policies.
Apply commercial awareness and independent judgment to technically challenging insurance and professional risk claims.
Requirements
Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience, ideally with professional indemnity expertise in construction-related claims.
Strong understanding of insurance litigation, policy coverage analysis, and relationships between insurers, brokers, and lawyers.
Excellent communication, analytical, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience with high-value claims, professional risk matters, and exposure to reinsurance or property damage claims is advantageous.
Previous secondments or experience within an insurance organisation are desirable but not essential.
