Are you passionate about infrastructure, partnership management and making a real impact? A dynamic and experienced individual is sought to join the Highways Service and play a key role in delivering high-quality, sustainable services.
This is an opportunity to influence the delivery of all highway projects across Derbyshire. The role involves working closely with senior leaders, project funders and sponsors, our own partners and external frameworks like Midlands Highway Alliance. The successful candidate will champion the running of the service to ensure that value, performance, quality, KPI management and social value are recognised and managed.

Requirements:
- Management Experience: Managing and procuring professional services with a track record of successfully managing long-term contracts and performance frameworks.
- Commercial Skills: Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen are essential, along with substantial knowledge of NEC contracts and public procurement processes.
- Strategic Planning: The ability to develop and implement a resourcing strategy to optimize internal and external capabilities is necessary, along with driving performance through KPI monitoring, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills are needed to cultivate effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, from Heads of Service to supply chain partners.
- NEC Accreditation preferable but not essential
- Procurement and contract management
- Experience in a political or public sector environment
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and quality management systems
- Make a Difference: Contribute to projects that improve local communities and the wider infrastructure network.
- Impactful Work: Lead a dedicated business support team and act as deputy to the Head of Professional Services, directly impacting the success of the Highways Service.
