Our global Practice Solutions teams keep White & Case at the forefront of the evolving legal landscape, helping lawyers work smarter and deliver outstanding client service. We support the Firm by leveraging the latest legal, client, and market knowledge, and provide direct assistance to legal teams. Under the leadership of the Chief Innovation Officer, Practice Solutions comprises five teams: Professional Support, Research & Market Intelligence, Practice Technology, Business Intelligence, and Innovation and AI. Our professionals use information management, research, data, technology, and training to enable lawyers to work efficiently and collaboratively for the benefit of our clients.
The role is for an experienced lawyer who will help deliver the Group’s knowledge and innovation strategy, influence policy, and implement projects to meet the Group’s knowledge needs. The focus is on supporting constantly evolving policies and legislation in international trade and customs within the European Union and United Kingdom, and their interaction with related policies in third countries such as the United States. This includes areas such as tariffs, customs enforcement, free trade agreements, economic sanctions, export controls, and trade defence investigations.
Key responsibilities include monitoring developments in the legal and business environment to keep the Group and its clients informed, identifying opportunities to enhance the Firm’s reputation and practice, providing legal and practical expertise to support the Group (including responding to fee earner queries and mentoring junior lawyers), creating and managing forms, precedents and research materials, organising and delivering training, working with Group members and other Business Services teams to identify opportunities for business development, and providing additional support as required. Experience with international trade and customs matters and related EU and UK policy and legislative procedures is desirable but not essential; the role requires developing a working knowledge of these areas. Specific responsibilities may vary according to the Group’s needs.

Location and Reporting
This role is based in London, and reports into the Practice Group Reference Partner and Chief Innovation Officer
Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week.
