Job Description
This role is focused on Programme outcomes & benefits and would be suitable for someone with a passion for carbon and sustainability, energy systems, or complex airport buildings infrastructure. The role of the Analyst is to support managing sponsors with the ownership of benefit management plans (BMPs). Operating at both project and programme level to ensure all investment decisions have robust BMPs, which are tracked and reported through the gateway lifecycle –supporting prioritisation where required and ultimately benefit realisation of our capital programmes.
This role will lead in smaller and less complex projects in benefit optimisation to ensure an effective solution is delivered from an outcomes & benefits perspective. The role holder should be able to articulate the priorities, business benefits and resolve constraints / issues and conflict with guidance from the managing sponsor. The Sponsor’s Analyst is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered and benefits are realised. They should ensure commitment & buy in with help and support where necessary.
Your role will involve
- The ultimate accountability of this role for tracking programme outcomes and benefits, through the ownership of the BMP and its reporting.
- Supporting the managing sponsor as the voice of the business in programme-related decisions and sponsors will be prepared to play an active role in all programme-related conversations.
- Being familiar with Heathrow’s programme delivery and governance processes.
- Building strong working relationships with programme teams to support the managing sponsors view of project pipelines, benefit realisation and sponsorship reporting.
- Establishing strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business including Finance, Operations and Benefit Owners.
- Ensuring that all user requirements are captured, and approvals are in place to meet schedule dates, as well as understanding regulatory requirements. Sponsors will ensure post project reviews are done and learning and benefits realisation are captured.
These Skills Are Essential
- Degree qualification in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent academic achievement.
- Professional qualifications (membership of an appropriate institution) or evidence demonstrating continued personal development.
- Experience in a range of capital / revenue projects with a clear understanding of project management and sponsorship. APM / MSP desirable.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with other teams and external stakeholders to achieve a common result
- Strong stakeholder skills, the ability to manage ambiguity & influencing skills
- Ability to synthesise, produce evidence based, accurate and insightful analysis.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
