About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate CIPD professional to take on the role of
Programme Lead for CIPD Level 3 & 5. Reporting to the Product & Operations Director, this role combines high-quality teaching with strategic programme leadership.
You will be responsible for delivering live online classes and providing academic and pastoral support to learners across our CIPD Level 5 qualification. In addition, you will lead and manage a small team of experienced Level 3 and Level 5 tutors, ensuring a consistent and excellent learner experience across the programmes.
As Programme Lead, you will oversee the overall delivery and quality of our Level 3 and 5 CIPD provision, work closely with internal teams to support continuous improvement, and play a key role in ensuring alignment with the CIPD Profession Map and evolving industry needs. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys teaching but also thrives on shaping programmes and leading others.
What You’ll Do
You will be accountable for:
- Delivering high-quality tutor-led sessions (daytime and evening) aligned to CIPD Level 5 learning outcomes
- Supporting learners to apply complex HR theories and models to workplace practice
- Providing academic support and critical feedback on assessments and activities
- Monitoring and assessing learner progress and maintaining accurate records
- Managing cohorts of students, ensuring timely interventions and learner engagement
- Leading monthly progress reviews and contributing to quality assurance activities
- Responding to learner queries on the online Learning Hub and through interactive group channels
- Sending regular cohort updates and learning prompts to maintain momentum
- Being accountable for learner progression, pass rates, and timely programme completion
- Participating in standardisation activities and course performance reviews
- Marking first submissions and resubmissions according to awarding body criteria
- Adhering to Avado policies and regulatory frameworks (including GDPR, safeguarding, and EQA compliance)
- Taking personal responsibility for CPD to stay current with HR practice and pedagogy
In Your Programme Lead Capacity, You Will Also
- Line manage and support a team of Level 3 and Level 5 tutors, ensuring consistency in learner experience and teaching standard
- Lead programme planning and scheduling, including tutor allocations and live session timetables
- Act as the escalation point for complex learner issues and queries across Level 3 and 5 cohorts
- Monitor overall programme performance and lead interventions to improve outcomes where needed
- Collaborate with internal teams (Curriculum & Assessment, Student Support, Product & Platforms) to support continuous improvement and curriculum development
- Represent the tutor team in cross-functional meetings and feed into strategic decisions related to programme delivery and learner experience.
This is a remote role, but regular in-person collaboration is important. You’ll be expected to attend monthly management meetings at our London office, as well as occasional company events or team gatherings at specified locations.
What We’re Looking For
- Recent HR/L&D experience
- Relevant CIPD qualification at Level 5 or higher
- Active CIPD Membership
- CIPD teaching experience
- Strong academic literacy and ability to support learners in developing critical analysis and evidence-based decision-making
- Confident and adaptable in using virtual delivery tools, learning management systems (LMS), and CRMs such as HubSpot.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic team player with a learner-first mindset
