About The Role
The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Adult Learning & Skill Service [ALSS] provides over 400 courses to more than 6,000 students locally and London wide. The courses offered are both nationally accredited qualifications and non-accredited courses at various locations throughout the borough.
ALSS is looking to recruit a dynamic, full time Programme Leader for Skills for Life to further develop the provision across our main centres and partnership venues located across the Borough.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Supporting the service to implement the Councils Industrial strategy, with a focus on improving the skills of residents. Build on the success of the department, to enable residents to improve their skills and work towards a qualification.
- Lead the planning and delivery of qualifications across our centres, providing support as an Internal Quality Assurer.
- Collaborate with examining bodies to implement examinations throughout the year, facilitating learners' achievement of qualifications.
- Develop an innovative and engaging curriculum aligned with targets set by the Programme Manager.
- Line manage established and sessional tutors, conducting observations of teaching and learning, carrying out learning walks, and contributing to the self-assessment report and position statements.
- Monitor and record learners' progress and achievement, ensuring their success.
- You will teach a maximum of 10 hours.

Role Specific Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A proven track record and experience of successful leading a programme of courses.
- Adult teaching qualification at Level 4 and successful adult teaching experience.
- Experience of contributing towards curriculum planning and development.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted, (the Education Inspection Framework EIF).
- Knowledge of the barriers learners face, preventing them to engage and access learning and training opportunities.
