Purpose of the Role:
The Programme Manager will play a critical role in delivering various key strategic initiatives, focusing on firm-wide managed spend savings and the successful implementation of Project Leap (NDA). This role requires a highly organised and experienced individual with strong programme and project management skills, excellent stakeholder management capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
The role comprises three distinct areas of responsibility:
1. Firm-wide Managed Spend Savings Initiatives (Programme Level Delivery):
- Lead the programme-level delivery of firm-wide managed spend savings initiatives, working closely with director-level spend category leads.
- Develop and manage comprehensive programme plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
- Monitor progress against targets, identify and mitigate risks, and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Ensure timely delivery of initiatives to achieve pre-defined spend reduction targets.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions and levels within the organisation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date programme documentation and reporting.
2. Programme Management of Project Leap (Active Delivery):
- Lead the delivery of Project Leap, a significant initiative (NDA); While a dedicated Project Manager is assigned, this role will actively drive the project's success, ensuring timely completion and achievement of objectives.
- Direct the RFP process, from requirements gathering and supplier selection to contract negotiation and award. This includes overseeing the development of the RFP document, managing the supplier response process, leading evaluation and scoring activities, and ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.
- Oversee the transition and implementation plan, working closely with the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition to the new supplier(s). This includes developing a detailed implementation plan, managing risks and dependencies, and monitoring progress against key milestones. This will involve close collaboration with IT, change management, and other relevant teams.
- Monitor progress, identify potential risks and dependencies, and provide proactive solutions and support to the Project Manager and wider team.
- Contribute actively to SteerCo meetings and decision-making processes, presenting updates and recommendations.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between Project Leap and other CBS / firmwide Transformation initiatives.
3. Project Management Delivery of CBS Managed Spend Initiatives (Individual Project Delivery):
- Manage the delivery of individual CBS managed spend initiatives that do not have a dedicated Project Manager assigned.
- Develop and execute project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and report on performance against targets.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience of leading RFP and managed spend (third party) commercials is essential to the role
- Proven experience in programme and project management, ideally within a large corporate environment. Experience within professional services is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience in managing large-scale transformation programmes is highly advantageous.
- Experience with procurement processes and supplier management is essential.
- Understanding of financial management principles and reporting.
- A strong commitment to corporate responsibility and ethical conduct.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- PRINCE2 or PMP certification.
- Experience with change management methodologies.
- Experience working with external suppliers and vendors.
