About the role:
As a Programme manager, you'll be responsible for the management of the resident experience programme. You'll be responsible for ensuring that the projects are aligned with the programme vision, goals, and benefits, and that they are delivered on time, within budget, and with quality. You'll also manage the risks, issues, dependencies, and changes that affect the programme and its stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Programme Management of programmes linked to the delivery of corporate missions, such as our Resident Experience Programme, ensuring all projects within the programme are aligned with strategic objectives, clearly scoped, data led and deliver their intended outcomes.
- Provide high quality, regular reporting to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) and other governance and Executive bodies, offering insights into progress, risks, issues, benefits, and decision points.
- You will personally project manage some of the key projects to time and budget, ensuring governance standards are maintained and offer expert advice across our wider function.
- Hold delivery teams to clear accountability, to ensure projects/programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and delivering quality outcomes—including resident satisfaction improvements and financial savings.
- Ensure all initiatives are underpinned by a resident-centred approach, ensuring that insight, data, and user research are used to make decisions and shape priorities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the council to foster shared ownership, identify new initiatives and ensure effective delivery. This will include driving stakeholder accountability, identifying and escalating issues in an appropriate and timely manner’
- Engage with elected members where appropriate, ensuring they are appropriately briefed, and updated on progress and impact.
- Manage programme governance structures, preparing and presenting clear and concise documentation to boards, steering groups, and leadership forums.
- Maintain strong oversight and transparency of risks, dependencies, and benefits across the programme, implementing appropriate mitigations and escalating where necessary.
- Champion innovation, agile delivery practices, and continuous improvement across the programme and the wider digital services portfolio
- Any additional duties consistent with the grade and level of responsibility of this position, for which the holder possesses the required experience and/or training.
