Position Summary
Partner with the Project Management team and other key stakeholders to provide relevant, effective and reliable financial information which supports operational and project-specific decision making.
Preparing, monitoring and reporting project costs in line with site and corporate requirements to achieve operational and financial results aligned with company targets and objectives.
Strive for improvement, change and development in finance and business processes.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Experienced finance professional with adequate understanding of one’s own job area and role function
- Builds strong relationships within and across teams, demonstrating a positive, `can-do` attitude whilst consistently supporting Oceaneering’s culture and values
- Individual contributor who can work independently under limited supervision, taking ownership of projects and applying their knowledge in creative and innovative ways
- Explains facts and provides context of practices and policies to internal/ external parties for information or to elicit support
- Actively participate in HSE initiatives and ensure safety comes first
- Provide support and financial guidance to the Project Management team
- Assist project managers with reliable and timely preparation of financial reports including their monthly status reports, variance analysis and forecast
- Contribute to the monthly project review process, supporting the Project Management team with any financial queries
- Investigate, understand (in an operational context) and effectively communicate cost variances versus forecast to key stakeholders
- Integrate with the site Operations team to understand the manufacturing process and associated costs
- Involvement in the accounts receivable process - reporting on billed, accrued/ unbilled revenue, monitoring of cash collection and cash flow forecasting
- Assist the Supply Chain department to ensure aged inventory is carefully monitored and open purchase orders are closed out accordingly
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support the Finance manager in ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place across the business (SOX) and comply with financial reporting standards (UK & US GAAP)
- Assist with or take on any other duties as and when required in accordance with business needs
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Part-qualified accountant to UK standard or equivalent
DESIRED
- Ability to communicate and present high level information to non-financial managers
- Well organised and able to work to business deadlines in a corporate environment
- Relevant finance experience in industry – Operational or project based industries
- Previous experience of Lean or similar continuous improvement tools
- SOX compliance experience
