Join us as a Project Accountant/ Business Partner on a temporary, 6 Month contract (part-time or full-time to suit your availability) and help steer critical project decisions with sharp financial insight.
You’ll own and maintain a detailed Excel model that underpins our forward-looking projections, ensuring leaders have the clarity they need to act with confidence. Working hand-in-hand with project leads, operational teams, and finance, you’ll drive accurate forecasting, meticulous tracking, and timely reporting across the project landscape.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintenance of Financial model that underpins financial projections and return on investment metrics, comparing against the original business case
- Track project budgets, forecasts, and actuals to ensure alignment with financial goals
- Monitor project-related expenditures and ensure proper coding and compliance with internal policies
- Prepare financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounting
- Maintain documentation for audits and assist with audit processes as needed
- Identify and flag financial risks or inconsistencies within project budgets or spending
- Support and challenge stakeholders bringing financial and commercial acumen to drive decision making.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in business partnering roles, with a strong track record of supporting strategic projects through detailed financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including managing complex models
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and standards
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Strong analytical thinking and clear communication abilities
- Self-motivated and able to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled at building effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders
- Quick to understand and adapt to existing financial models, processes, and frameworks with minimal guidance
- Brings a constructive, thoughtful approach to challenging existing practices and driving improvement
- Experience within the Telecoms or Infrastructure sectors is beneficial
