Role description:
Arcadis are working across major capital investment programmes (multi-billion £), within the infrastructure and transportation sectors in the UK and Ireland. We work with a variety of clients, collaborating across the supply chain to ensure our client’s programmes are delivered effectively, efficiently and their requirements are met. Our fantastic ‘One Arcadis’ team provide multi-disciplinary solutions to our clients, bringing in expertise from project & programme management, cost & commercial, design & engineering, digital intelligence and advisory skillsets. Providing value adding standardisation, insight and control is at the heart of supporting the success of our clients and their programme delivery teams. To support our major clients in the UK and Ireland, we are looking for an experienced project controls director to join our Major Projects leadership team. The individual will lead our Programme Controls Teams for our key clients across the transportation and infrastructure sectors.
Role accountabilities:
- To hold client facing leadership roles working directly with our key customers for major projects within the infrastructure and transportation sectors, bringing the best of Arcadis and our partners to delight our clients
- To bring management and control expertise and learning to our major projects, integrating multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated and value adding solutions for our clients
- To proactively challenge and positively disrupt ways of working to ensure they are value adding, efficient and effective, supporting successful delivery for our clients. This includes being an ambassador for the use of LEAN principles and digital to improve ways of working
- To be a leader within our Project & Programme Controls community, supporting the growth and development of our people, and those within our clients, partners and wider industry bodies
Qualifications & Experience:
- To be an experienced individual who has worked in Controls Leadership roles across a variety of major projects within the infrastructure and / or transportation sectors
- Having experience working across the supply chain, including perspectives from client-side, consultant, contractor and designers would be a strong advantage
- Having experience spanning through all stage of the project / programme life cycle, from mobilisation, set-up, delivery, handover and benefits realisation across a variety of Major Projects
- Holding a degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related field
- Holding qualifications aligned to Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), APM’s Planning and Controls Certifications or strong knowledge / application of the UK Government’s National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority would be advantages for this role
