Pay rate: Up to £660 per day (dependent on experience) PAYE, Umbrella options available

Location: Soho, London

Hours of work: 2-3 days on site, with travel to other Sizewell offices and site on occasions

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to take a critical leadership role within a large, complex civils programme. Reporting into the Head of the Civils Works Project Management Office, this position will be responsible for driving effective project controls, performance management, and integrated reporting across one or more major sub-programmes. The role will play a key part in ensuring delivery certainty through robust controls, proactive risk management, and continuous performance improvement within a multi-stakeholder environment.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:

Essential:

• All items detailed above in the Job Purpose and accountabilities section.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in business analysis, accounting, finance, construction, engineering or project management, or related technical field.
• A track record of working as a Project Controls Director on large and complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience of working within multiple Project Controls Functions of cost control, estimating, scheduling, change management and risk management.
• Detailed understanding of earned value analysis.
• Experience of successfully managing a team in a matrix structure on a project.
• Experience with increasing responsibility showing an ability to manage senior stakeholders.
• Deliverables focused and an accomplished problem solver, rising to meet any challenge.
• Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Active membership of AACE, PMI, APM or similar association with association certifications.
• User of a range of reporting and analytics software and project controls systems particularly Power BI.

Role information:

• Provide functional ownership of Project Controls across one or more large, complex civils sub-programmes, covering schedule, cost, risk, change, and reporting.
• Lead and coordinate Project Controls activities to ensure integrated, accurate, and timely performance information.
• Implement and maintain best-practice Project Controls processes, ensuring consistency across teams and alignment with governance requirements.
• Assure the quality and deliverability of Project Controls outputs produced by internal teams and the supply chain.
• Oversee progress reporting, including schedule updates, forecasting, variance analysis, and identification of improvement opportunities.
• Ensure the timely production and quality of month-end performance reports.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify risks, support mitigations, and prioritise Project Controls activities.
• Support wider PMO activities, including budget planning, estimate updates, and schedule reviews.
