Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Project Delivery Co-ordinator based at Northampton/Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will support the team with project managing the installation of low and high voltage cables onto the electricity distribution network. These projects will include delivering cable lay / civil activities associated with asset replacement, new connections and reinforcement.
You will work closely with other Field Operations teams to support the business with work volumes.
Evidence of stated qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
- Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
Main Responsibilities
- Project manage the delivery of work and LV projects in accordance with Engineering Directives
- Project manage the delivery of work, HV & LV cable laying and civils in accordance with Engineering Directives
- Obtain NRSWA notices and materials
- Issue planned shutdown notices, make appointments with customers.
- Issue Work Instructions to contractors.
- Schedule work
- Determine what will be done in the short term (immediate to one month) within known constraints.
- Prepare plans, schematics, notices, materials schedules, and agreements for all projects and work instructions.
- Alter own short-term programme to meet change in circumstance, within constraints.
- Advise customers affected of the impact of own activities and projects.
- Resolve customer complaints wherever possible directly.
- Assess site risks, and take action to remove or avoid those risks.
- Review contractor method statements and risk assessments for tasks delivered by contractors.
- Complete project risk registers
Liaise with customers, 3rd parties & contractors
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Contract Manager/Supervisor/Agent with excellent communication abilities.
The ideal candidate should possess proven experience in planning or project management and excel in cultivating strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across various levels.
Key Requirements For This Role Include
- Comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities of a Distribution Network Operator (DNO), encompassing low and high voltage networks. While familiarity with National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) assets is an advantage, candidates who can build this knowledge quickly will also be considered.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, ESQCR, and Electricity at Work Regulations
- External candidates should ideally hold a minimum of a level 2 qualification in Civil or Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Project Management
- NRSWA qualification is preferred
- A valid driving licence is essential
- For operational purposes you will ideally live within 30 minutes of Northampton or Milton Keynes. A company vehicle will be provided for business use, however will not be available for commuting between home and the depot.
- Experience of installing cables in the highway and dealing with local authorities is desirable.
