Position Summary
We’re launching a major transformation project to expand our Staverton factory and significantly increase production capacity. As part of this large-scale investment, we are seeking a
Project Engineer specialising in building construction project management to lead the delivery of the building scope, working closely with external architectural and engineering teams. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in a high-impact, multi-year capital investment.
As
Project Engineer – Buildings, you will be responsible for managing the design, planning, contractor selection, and on-site execution of the new factory building. You will work closely with external architects, civil and structural engineers, MEP consultants, and quantity surveyors to ensure timely approvals and successful delivery of the construction phase.
A key focus will be securing planning permission quickly, prequalifying and selecting building contractors, and overseeing construction activities with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity with flexible working arrangements depending on the project phase. Full on-site presence will be required during the implementation phase.
A day in the life of a Project Engineer – Buildings
- Manage the building scope of a major factory expansion project from concept to completion
- Coordinate with external teams including architects, civil/structural engineers, MEP engineers, and quantity surveyors
- Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications to secure timely approvals
- Prequalify, evaluate, and select building contractors in collaboration with procurement and project stakeholders
- Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, safety, and quality standards
- Manage the construction and safety management team to ensure safe and efficient site operations
- Ensure effective use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for design coordination, planning, and execution
- Monitor progress, risks, and issues, and report regularly to project leadership
- Ensure alignment with project timelines, budget, and regulatory requirements
What Will Make You Successful

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
- Proven Track Record managing building projects, ideally within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in design management, planning application processes and building contractor selection
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards including CDM regulations and site management practices
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams
- Proficiency in BIM tools and workflows (e.g. Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360)
- Familiarity with UK building regulations and planning procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoDesk tools
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
