Cingularity was acquired by IMG Media in September 2022 to provide the expertise to guide IMG’s remote production evolution toward a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud and IP.
Cingularity seeks project engineers from live event, broadcast or network transmission-focused backgrounds.
As a project Engineer, you will join the team responsible for the deployment of live broadcast solutions through the entire life cycle of a project delivery. Reviewing solution documentation, presaging, on-site project builds, warehouse stock management, monitoring, and support when hand over solutions to operations are key functions of this role.
Please Note:
- The position will be based London at our office, 28 Hanbury Street, London, E1 6QR, United Kingdom but remote working will be considered.
- For equipment builds/testing, you must also attend IMG Studios, Stockley Park, 5 Longwalk Rd, Hayes, Uxbridge UB11 1FE, United Kingdom from time to time.
- Due to the nature of the role, travelling worldwide for project builds at datacentres and customer premises will be necessary.
What You'll Do:
Pre-Event Staging, Testing & Maintenance:
- To pre-stage and test equipment for the events.
- Create, read, and interpret schematic and topology drawings based on customer requirements.
- Engagement with end customers on project meetings to ensure project success.
- Engagement with telecommunication suppliers.
- Monitor warehouse stock and replenish where necessary.
- Manage the technical/equipment and maintenance of Cingularitys mobile Vehicle(s).
Project Engineering:
- To work alongside Cingularitys project management function to deliver the technical elements of a solution.
- To perform all appropriate testing before solution deployment, focusing on network connectivity and transmission encoding and decoding services.
- To ensure correct monitoring of customer video and data services are in place.
- To provide direct support to customers during project delivery stages.
- To work with partners and suppliers via phone and email for project related issues and other enquiries.
- Ensure Cingularitys asset management system (Flex) is up to date with all equipment and their locations.
- Ensure Cingularitys record database (Netbox) is up to date with all equipment, connectivity, Contacts and IP addressing schemas.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
- Ability to work under pressure on time critical projects.
- Ability to work long hours in line with project deployments.
- Ability to turn-up and troubleshoot network connectivity for transmission.
- Excellent problem-solving skills whilst deploying projects for live broadcasts.
- Ability to follow engineering and technical diagrams to build solutions.
- Knowledge of live TV Broadcast environments and workflows.
- Proficient in making co-axial and ethernet (RJ45) cables.
- Excellent knowledge of baseband video (SD-SDI,HD-SDI,UHD), audio, video routers and multiviewers.
- Knowledge of optical fibre-based technologies with the experience of deployments and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of MPEG encoding/decoding (AVC/HEVC) and JPEG2000/JPEG XS.
- Familiarity with Net Insight products (Nimbra MSR, VA/N414) is desirable.
- Understanding of MAC OS, Microsoft Windows and Office 365 with working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
- Basic IP knowledge:
- Ability to apply basic network configurations to equipment.
- Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting of data/ telemetry services.
- Experience working in a live/broadcast environment (or similar role).
- Full Driving Licence.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
- Proven record of providing exceptional customer experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain focused under pressure.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Drive to build their knowledge and skills on existing and emerging technologies.
