Ricoh are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer, Post Sales to join our Communication Services division who will be a key member of the Post Sales engineering team the PE will own and manage all the technical elements of the project from sales handover, to completion including service handover accountable for technical change, control budget and time adherence, plus escalation management from customer into the wider central and local teams. The Project Engineer will become the SME for our customers and a technical point of contact throughout the customer engagement.

What you will be doing
- Validating designs during project handovers
- Translates what has been sold and can further apply low level engineering or value engineering
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of how to install, configure and install or commission a wide range of Audio Visuals projects
- Leading on assigned projects for the low level technical /engineering aspects and documentation. (See below)
- Driving of key project meetings with our customers to ensure all technical elements of a project are accounted for including all prerequisites on the customers side.
- Agreeing/reviewing the timescales, costs and resources needed on project handovers.
- Controlling, and managing the stage gates in place and working with the PMO to make sure projects are not delayed by local OpCo misunderstanding.
- Technical Point of escalation for project delivery related issues both internally and externally
- Key owner and drive of technical change management, and live issues throughout the project delivery lifecycle
- Build a portfolio of ‘how-to’ guides for all REU’s standard bundle offerings that OpCo engineers can easily follow, for the successful deployment and onboarding of new projects.
- Technically assisting the deployment of won projects, working closely with the project manager (PMO) and OpCo
- Approve technical Sign off and closure of projects, creation of as built drawings, management of change orders and associated budgets, submission of project handover info to service if applicable.
- Consult with both OpCo and customer to provide the best-in-class level of service for new projects, existing projects and retain customers to increase levels of business and incoming opportunities.
You will ideally have
- Ideally candidates will be educated to at least degree level qualification or professional equivalent with any additional skills in Project Management such as PRINCE2 or understanding of project management methodologies an advantage.
- Successful candidates will be fluent, both written and spoken in the English Language with any additional language(s) beneficial but not required.
- Preferably candidates will have strong Audio Visual systems and product knowledge.
- Multiple Vendor and ITIL accreditations such as (QSYS/QSC, Crestron, Extron, BiAMP, Logitech, Cisco, Shure/Sennheiser) would be a distinct advantage for this role.
- Preferably candidates will be experienced with MS Projects and resource management tools, plus have experience in leading and managing teams on site and across a business.
- Ideally candidates will have proven CAD skills and ability to read technical AV drawings and coordinate room builds/remediation. Plus, a track record of delivering technical engineering on large scale AV programmes.
- Successful candidates will be comfortable working with multi-functional teams within both Ricoh and our customers, including stakeholder management or resource management of large projects and teams.
- Any previous experience working within the European region would be a real plus.
- Ideally candidates will have experience in AV Tech role and on-site customer liaison, alongside strong communication skills across all levels including C Suite.
