At Sulzer GT Aero Services, we specialise in the overhaul, repair, and support of aeroderivative gas turbines and associated power turbines—critical assets trusted by global operators across the energy and industrial sectors. Based in Netherley, south of Aberdeen, our purpose-built facility is a centre of excellence delivering world-class engineering solutions. As Project Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and developing the Project Engineering team, ensuring the smooth execution of complex turbine projects from handover to delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role at the centre of customer-facing operations.
Our team in Netherley combines deep technical expertise with a practical, hands-on approach, offering a lively environment where no two days are the same. We’re agile enough to move quickly and collaborate closely, yet equipped to manage large-scale international projects with confidence.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and manage Project Engineers to deliver on-time, high-quality project outcomes.
- Oversee all project deliverables including hardware, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate internal and customer project kick-off meetings, ensuring full documentation is in place.
- Maintain strong interfaces with Engineering, Inspection, Material Control and Production teams.
- Build lasting relationships with customers and suppliers to mitigate risks and support future business.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A technical leader with extensive experience in rotating equipment or gas turbine MRO.
- Ability to lead multi-functional teams and drive project performance.
- Background in engineering (degree/apprenticeship) with formal project management certification preferred.
- Organised, adaptable and confident in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
