Project Finance Solicitor (3–7 PQE) – Energy & Infrastructure

Rutherford is partnered with a top-tier international law firm to recruit a Project Finance Solicitor (3–7 PQE) for its London-based team. The practice is recognised for advising on some of the most significant infrastructure, energy, and digital infrastructure projects across EMEA and APAC.

The role

You’ll advise on the financing and development of large-scale assets, including acquisition and refinancing transactions, multi-source project finance, and complex bank/bond, USPP, and common-terms structures. The team has deep expertise working with ECAs, multilaterals, Islamic finance providers, and global lenders.

Sector focus

The practice is at the forefront of the energy transition, advising on battery gigafactories, renewable and green power, hydrogen, and green steel projects, alongside major oil & gas, LNG, and mining developments.

Clients & exposure

You’ll work with leading infrastructure sponsors, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, credit funds, and international banks on complex, cross-border transactions.

The ideal candidate

3–7 PQE solicitor with strong project finance experience gained at a leading City or international firm.
Comfortable advising on complex, cross-border financings and multi-source structures.
Technically strong, commercially minded, and able to manage key aspects of transactions with increasing autonomy.
Confident working directly with clients and collaborating across jurisdictions.
Genuinely interested in energy, infrastructure, and transition-focused projects.
