Brief Description
We are offering an exciting 12-month opportunity for a Project Management Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of railway infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will work closely with the Project Management team to assist in the day-to-day coordination and administration of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with:
- The Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP)
- Railway Group Standards
- Network Rail’s company standards
- All relevant legislation, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a structured project environment, develop your understanding of railway project delivery, and contribute to high-profile infrastructure improvements.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to learn—someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to support a dynamic team.
About The Role (External)
- Work as part of a project team, assisting to deliver projects to time, cost and quality through various phases in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Collate, format and distribute data to support project requirements. Cascade to internal and external parties where appropriate.
- Using the available reporting systems and guidelines monitor and report on project progress.
- Maintain and generate project and programme documentation in accordance with project reporting system guidelines.
- Participate in projects as required.
Essential
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Educated to HND/HNC level, relevant project or administration experience
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
- Strong organisation skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PPT)
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of applying project methodologies
- Obtained or working towards a project related qualification
- Networking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercial & financial awareness
- Experienced with PowerBI
