Are you a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering Business Change initiatives? We’re seeking 2 talented individuals to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract aligning to 2 separate projects supporting a large-scale transformation of the business.
Reporting to the Transformation Director/Programme Sponsor, these roles offer the opportunity to manage complex projects focused on innovative ways of working ensuring alignment with our project delivery standards. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders across the UK Group, applying disciplined project management methodologies to drive successful outcomes. The first of the roles is focused on our Health business, with a broad remit covering future proofing our business through automation, simplification and ways of working. You’ll have a broad experience of project management in the insurance sector and possess excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills,
The second role focuses more closely on organisational change, technology and governance. You’ll bring experience of working in an Agile environment and technology implementation, again ideally within the insurance sector.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. Both roles will require travel to our office in London on a regular basis.
What you’ll be doing:
- Champion and implement disciplined project management methodologies, including planning, resourcing, scheduling, risk management, and reporting to ensure best practices.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including third-party partners, and set up governance structures to facilitate transparent communication and reporting.
- Develop and control project budgets, manage resource allocation, and create contingency plans to ensure project objectives are achieved efficiently.
- Produce and maintain key project documents such as business cases, forecasts, requirements, and delivery plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage junior team members, contribute to talent development initiatives, and foster a collaborative team environment aligned with best project management practices.
- Maintain high standards for project deliverables, oversee testing and reviews, and ensure solutions meet IT and Change standards and business needs.
- Prepare and present project updates for senior management and stakeholders, facilitate planning sessions, and develop targeted communication plans to keep all parties informed and engaged.
- Oversee and ensure the successful delivery of specific IT and Business Change projects, maintaining high standards for quality and adherence to deadlines and budgets.

What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrable success in delivering complex infrastructure or application projects in an insurance or banking environment.
- Accreditation at practitioner level in project management disciplines with a solid understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle.
- Skills in applying comprehensive project management disciplines across both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches, including planning, risk management, and RAID.
- Experience in managing project budgets effectively and making informed, strategic decisions to drive project success.
- Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, and influence outcomes effectively.
- Ability to manage relationships across multiple business units and third-party providers, including contract negotiations and quality assurance.
- Good understanding of end-to-end IT solutions, including application and infrastructure technologies, and the IT delivery lifecycle.
- Experience in HR line management, staff development, and performance management, supporting team growth and high performance is desirable.
