The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join a high-impact team delivering critical infrastructure programmes that shape the future. Day-to-day, you’ll lead infrastructure upgrade projects across the Devonport site, managing programmes, budgets, and milestones from planning to completion. Your role ensures cross-discipline coordination, resource optimisation, and stakeholder engagement to deliver each project on time, within scope, and in line with strategic goals.
- Lead and coordinate asuite of infrastructure upgrade projects across the Devonport site
- Oversee projects through all lifecycle stages, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and quality expectations
- Regularly update and maintain project programmes, tracking progress and adjusting plans as needed
- Manage project finances, monitoring budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of upgrades across multiple workstreams and disciplines
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard
Essential Experience Of The Project Manager
- Proven project management experience, particularly in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects
- Highly organised and self-sufficient, capable of producing quality outputs and reports with minimal oversight
- Strong grasp of APM principles and methodologies, with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including confidence in working with senior figures
- Experienced in liaising with stakeholders at all leveals and building effective relationships across organisational boundaries
Qualifications For The Project Manager
- Hold a degree in engineering, construction, or a project-related discipline
- Possess an appropriate APM qualification (Association for Project Management)
In some cases, formal qualifications may be waived temporarily based on demonstrated experience and specific capabilities in a relevant role.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
