The Service & Team:
The People and Change function forms part of our Customer and Business Support service area. The Team provides a high quality, strategic support function as part of our Customer and Corporate Services Directorate.
The Programmes and Change Team form a significant part of our People and Change function, having a critical role in supporting and enabling the business to deliver on its most complex and challenging business change priorities. The team works closely with all areas of the organisation to deliver the organisation’s Target Operating Model and Transformation activity.
As the role of the team is to lead this transformation, it is critical that we model the changes we wish to see and working with senior stakeholders to enable them to secure the changes they want to see, and to make those changes sustainable. You will join a diverse team with a range of skills and expertise in a kind and supportive environment. We are future focussed with lots of energy to make change happen and continually improve, including adopting and practicing new ways of working.
This role will play important part in driving the Organisation’s transformation and enabling our journey towards the Council we Need.
About The Role
The Project Manager will work closely with the cross-service housing Demand Management Delivery Group (DMDG), which brings together stakeholders from the Community Wellbeing and Sustainable Growth & Place directorates. The group is tasked with delivering a prioritised programme of interventions drawn from the Housing Demand Management Strategy and the Housing Options Service transformation programme. Workstreams include Prevention, Income Collection, Housing Supply, Private Rental Sector, Move-On and Commissioning.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Leading the planning, delivery, and monitoring of key interventions within the DMDG workstreams.
- Coordinating activity from cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective implementation of interventions.
- Managing project documentation, risk registers, and milestone plans in line with PMO standards.
- Supporting the DMDG Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) and Business Lead with governance, performance reporting, and benefits realisation.
- Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Driving forward the group’s objectives to reduce costs, improve outcomes, and deliver sustainable housing solutions.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- Proven experience in project management with the confidence and ability to lead multi-functional teams and provide healthy challenge at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrating a knowledge and understanding of the strategies and tools required to successfully deliver change.
- You will be keen, enthusiastic, and have good communication skills that you can draw upon to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- You will demonstrate strong organisational, management and interpersonal skills and have a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver results within a complex organisation.
