About the role
We are now growing our project management team and this new position will suit an experienced IT Project Manager, with a deep understanding of delivering managed services projects, predominantly in the Microsoft Modern Work / M365 space.
Responsibilities
Client Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and expectations.
- Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
Project Planning and Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans for the implementation and delivery of the project requirements and scope.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure successful execution of projects.
- Monitor project progress and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
Project Governance
- Implement and enforce proportionate project governance to guarantee the delivery of high-quality services.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings and regular project checkpoints to drive project delivery and maintain control of project scopes and budgets.
- Track project issues and risks and report them to appropriate stakeholders via governance meetings and highlight reporting.
- Ensure projects are transitioned into the Managed Services team and project completion is carried out, ensuring customers are satisfied and sharing any lessons learned.
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate project status updates, and key milestones to clients and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Address and resolve client concerns or escalations promptly.
Qualifications, experience, and skills
- Prince 2 Practitioner or other (equivalent) industry-recognised qualifications.
- Background of working as a Project Manager in a Managed Service Provider environment, delivering cloud-based projects (Microsoft Modern Work / M365 technology stack)
- Solid understanding of both, Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with the ability to apply the most appropriate project controls to suit the situation.
- Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) principles.
- Experience of project management tools and ITSM platforms.
- Familiarity with vendor management and procurement processes.
- Ability to manage delivery of multiple projects simultaneously to multiple customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong sense of commercial acumen, highly experienced in financial governance of a project, including budget and profitability tracking, invoicing, and managing changes to scope.
- Experience of planning and coordinating project resources.
- Proficient level of spoken and written English.
