We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Capital Projects and wider Highways team in Brixworth Northamptonshire. In this role, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of highway improvement schemes as part of the Highway Framework Contracts on behalf of West and North Northamptonshire Councils.

Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire – a minimum of 3 days in the office is required; remote working available for 2 days
Hours: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) – flexible working hours available
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per year + £5,900 annual car allowance + private healthcare + additional benefits
What will you be responsible for?
As a Project Manager, you will coordinate the design and delivery of major highway improvement schemes, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet programme, cost, and quality objectives. This role operates within the NEC4 Term Service Contract framework.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Acting as the primary contact for assigned projects, managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, design teams, and service providers
- Leading all stages of project delivery, from Early Contractor Involvement and project inception through to close-out, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations
- Identifying and implementing value engineering opportunities, tracking changes, and reporting efficiencies during both design and construction phases

Essential Qualifications And Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering capital or large-scale highway improvement schemes within a local authority setting
- Strong understanding of local government governance and assurance processes
- Experience managing projects under the NEC4 Term Service Contract or Engineering Construction Contract
- Ability to coordinate highways design, programme management, and budget control
