Senior Project Manager

Location: Edinburgh / Alderley Park (Manchester) (Hybrid – 3 days per month onsite)

Contract: 12 months

Day Rate: £508 Inside IR35

The Role

We are looking for an expert with proven experience in large-scale transitions or complex change environments—those who can navigate operational, technical, and people-centric change to ensure a smooth, well-governed, and high-quality transition. As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

Lead our most complex and critical initiatives
Apply best project management practices to ensure outcomes are delivered to time, cost, and quality objectives
Provide leadership to the delivery team, building and motivating team members to meet project goals
Define and agree required project resources for successful delivery
Manage risks and issues, understanding the wider risk context associated with the business and delivery
Build collaborative relationships with third parties to manage delivery, costs, and maximise value
Implement appropriate governance in line with Group methods

Control project costs and understand the impact on Group-wide financial performance and value to the customer

Coach and mentor other Project Managers in the team, potentially with people management responsibilities

Contribute to continuous improvement of ways of working within our change delivery environment

Your Profile

We are seeking candidates with extensive, demonstrable experience delivering complex projects within financial services, including:

Ability to solve and unblock issues within teams or departments
Adaptable communication style across all levels of the organisation
Skills to build consensus between organisations or diverse stakeholders
Proactive and future-focused approach to managing and controlling project costs and benefits
Strong interpersonal skills to influence, facilitate change, and enhance performance in a cross-functional environment
Experience leading project teams and building trust, confidence, commitment, and collaboration
Experience of integration programmes, platform migrations, or similar transformation projects is highly desirable
