Job Description

Your Future Team:

Project Manager - Delivering Design and Construction

The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for leading onshore delivery of a capital programmes. The role involves guiding project teams, managing interdependencies, and maintaining outputs, requiring strong project management skills and the ability to deliver at pace in a complex environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Manage full project lifecycle โ€“ from Early Contractor Involvement and design through construction and commissioning

  • ๐Ÿค Lead multidisciplinary teams โ€“ inspire collaboration and maintain momentum across stakeholders

  • ๐Ÿ“œ Oversee NEC4 contracts โ€“ build strong working relationships and monitor contractor performance

  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Control budgets and costs โ€“ track financials, forecast accurately, and report against approved budgets

  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Mitigate risk โ€“ apply sound risk management and change control throughout the project lifecycle

  • ๐Ÿ” Support project assurance โ€“ contribute to reviews and ensure compliance with internal processes

  • ๐Ÿ“… Manage schedules and milestones โ€“ direct delivery against defined phases and maintain programme integrity

  • โœ… Close out contracts โ€“ ensure all deliverables, payments, and maintenance agreements are completed

This is a critical role in a fast-paced and demanding environment, ideal for a confident leader with strong infrastructure delivery experience and excellent programme management skills.





Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Proven Delivery Experience โ€“ Minimum 10 years in consultancy and/or construction, with at least 5 years in a management role

  • ๐Ÿงฑ Built Environment Expertise โ€“ Strong experience in infrastructure works, particularly within the built environment

  • ๐Ÿ’ผ Commercial Acumen โ€“ Solid understanding of package costs and value; confident in challenging Compensation Events (CEs)

  • ๐Ÿ“„ NEC4 Contract Management โ€“ Practical experience delivering under NEC4, including change and stakeholder management

  • ๐Ÿ’ป Strong IT Skills โ€“ Comfortable using digital tools and systems for project delivery and communication

โญ Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • โš™๏ธ Operational Environment Experience โ€“ Track record of delivery in regulated or complex live environments, e.g. oil and gas nuclear, marine or defence.

  • ๐Ÿค Collaborative Working โ€“ Experience working in partnership with diverse stakeholders and delivery partners

  • ๐Ÿ”„ Adaptability โ€“ Able to respond to fast-changing requirements with flexibility and composure

  • ๐Ÿงฐ CEMAR or Similar Tools โ€“ Familiarity with contract management tools like CEMAR
