About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic North West & Central CP7 team. The role is required to undertake a full time CRE-C role for the business unit, focusing on civil engineering and rail projects, particularly bridge reconstructions. This role is essential to ensure successful contract delivery within a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage projects from pre-qualification and tendering through to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Team Leadership: Ensure the project team understands contract requirements, capabilities, and resource allocation to meet objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant legislation, contract terms, health and safety plans, and quality/environmental standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor contract progress and take corrective actions as needed to meet goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to meet or exceed expectations.
- Change Management: Collaborate with the Project Delivery Team to identify and manage changes to contracts.
- Reporting: Provide formal progress reports to the Contracts Manager and Framework Manager.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth within the framework.
- CRE-Construction: Plays a critical role in delivering projects to meet regulatory requirements, on time, and within budget constraints, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and performance. Ensure that engineering activities are carried out in compliance with safety and technical standards, while also overseeing the design, construction, and installation processes.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Project Manager with demonstrable CRE-C experience in rail contracting, particularly on civils and structures projects like bridge reconstructions and station enhancements.
- Educational Background: Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications:
- PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- Must be a currently approved CRE-C for civils
- Full UK Driving license and willingness to travel throughout the NW&C route/region for site based activities.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
