INTERNAL - This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a project manager to join the MindTech Digital Mental Health Research Group within the School of Medicine to work on the NIHR i4i (Invention for Innovation) Product Development Award grant: ‘RECOGNeyes for Schools. This research has been funded to translate an evidence-based computerised cognitive training game for young people with ADHD (Attention Deficient Hyperactivity Disorder) into a market-ready product that can be delivered in schools. The project is a partnership between the University of Nottingham and King’s College London, and involves collaborators from across education and industry, as well as people with lived experience of ADHD.

The purpose of this role is to provide co-ordination and day-to-management of this project to ensure successful delivery. You will work closely with the Principal Investigator (Dr Elizabeth Liddle) to contribute to the strategic, operational and budgetary planning of all activities, as well as supporting the work package leads. You will also be responsible for recruiting primary and secondary schools, coordinating their involvement in the study, and being their first point of contact.

We are looking for a dynamic and effective individual, with the ability to risk assess and prioritise competing demands and to present informed recommendations to project leads and stakeholders together with the ability to implement recommendations. Candidates must have experience of research project management as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of research with children and young people in a health or educational area is essential. The role is suited to candidates who have worked in research roles and are looking to move into research project management.

This role will involve some contact with young people and their families and therefore the post holder will be required to obtain satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), in line with the University’s code of research conduct and research ethics.

You will join the vibrant and multi-disciplinary MindTech Research group and will be based in the Institute of Mental health at the Jubilee Campus in Nottingham. We are known for being a supportive, inclusive and caring group and are committed to creating a working environment that is inclusive for all. We welcome applications from people with personal lived experience of mental health problems.

The University of Nottingham provides generous employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a university employee, you will have an excellent choice of benefits and rewards, including access to fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a competitive holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme. The University of Nottingham is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. As a member of the team you will be expected to strive for excellence, behave professionally/ethically, respect other staff members and help to create an environment of inclusivity.

The post will be offered as a full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term position, available until 31/12/2027, however applications are also welcome from those wishing to work part time (minimum 29 hours per week).

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Elizabeth Liddle ([email protected]). Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.

It is a condition of this post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the 'Disclosure and Barring Service'.
