Project Planners to join our high-performing Planning & Controls team. With several key roles available, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a business-critical function supporting the delivery of our capital maintenance programmes
Job Overview
As a Project Planner, you’ll work closely with Project Managers and Contractors to build, manage, and maintain high-quality project schedules. You’ll ensure projects run on time, within budget, and in line with our contractual and operational standards.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Creating and managing schedules in P6, ensuring alignment with Southern Water’s internal planning standards.
- Collaborating with contractors to agree updates and changes before formal submission.
- Ensuring compliance with NEC contract requirements and supporting the management of compensation events.
- Engaging with delivery teams and stakeholders, both on-site and remotely, to gather updates and maintain schedule accuracy.
- Representing Planning in meetings with senior internal stakeholders and external partners, providing clear insight into timelines and project progress.
- Championing communication, acting as a key bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
About You
We’re looking for experienced, confident planners who can bring structure and clarity to complex projects. You’ll need at least 5 years’ experience in a planning role—ideally within infrastructure or utilities—with strong P6 skills (or similar), excellent communication, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Water sector experience is a bonus, but we welcome applicants from other industries with solid planning expertise.
Please note: all shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a P6 test as part of the interview process.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer office and home.
