The role
As a Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects and programmes across NRW2030-Natural Resources Wales (NRW)'s transformation programme designed to modernise the way we work, improve our services, and enhance our impact on Wales' natural environment by the year 2030.
You'll be responsible for managing information and documentation systems that underpin our project governance, ensuring all records are accurate, accessible, and aligned with internal policies and procedures.
You will provide vital business support to Project and Programme Managers, including maintaining governance toolkits, coordinating decision-making processes, and managing records such as risk logs, financial trackers, and contracts. You will also act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers, helping to organise meetings, events and provide full secretariat services.
This is a dynamic and varied role that requires strong organisational, communication and information management skills. You'll thrive working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and attention to detail are essential.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

As a Project Support Officer, you'll be part of this ambitious journey-either embedded in a specific NRW2030 programme or working within the NRW2030 Management Office. You will help to deliver high-quality, well-governed projects that make a real impact.

What you will do
- Support the delivery of projects and the programme, ensuring compliance with NRW Project and Programme Management (PPM) policies, guidance and tools.
- Produce, review and process information required for maintaining Project management toolkit including risk and issues logs, Gannt charts and financial trackers.
- Manage, store, retrieve and interpret project documentation including contracts, leases and other commercially sensitive information.
- Provide information for the purposes of contract management.
- Deal with queries, from internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Arrange meetings and team events.
- Undertake appropriate cost-centre administration including use of MyNRW and provide full secretariat services to Project Meetings
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post

Your Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge And Skills
In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method .
- Experienced in information management and Project Management systems
- Able to interpret contracts.
- Effective at developing good stakeholder relations internally.
- Numeracy skills and ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Organised and adaptable and able to respond to changing demands on workload.
- Possess good literacy, numeracy and IT skills (Microsoft Office).
- Experienced in office administration.
Welsh Language Level Requirements
Essential: Level A1 - Entry level (able to use and understand simple, basic phrases and greetings, no conversational Welsh)
