Our Catch22 College is the collective name for 8 sites we have across the country delivering academic and vocational training programmes for young people aged 16+ who, for whatever reason, are not suited to a mainstream college setting. Our College Site, like our all our other College sites, provides learners with a highly supportive environment where they have access to opportunities to build up their confidence and self belief, and to gain new skills and experiences that will help them to achieve their goals in life. We exist to help our learners
find their future.
This position involves teaching across our three college sites in the North East: Peterlee College, Bishop Auckland College, and Stanley College.
Job Description
Our Catch22 College is the collective name for 8 sites we have across the country delivering academic and vocational training programmes for young people aged 16+ who, for whatever reason, are not suited to a mainstream college setting. find their future.
- Teach PSHE and Skills Subjects: Deliver PSHE topics including Enrichment, Employability, Enterprise, and key skills, as well as small, relevant qualifications.
- Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster an inclusive, inspirational classroom that celebrates diversity and sets high expectations for achievement and progression.
- Plan and Deliver Effective Lessons: Develop well-structured schemes of work and lessons tailored to individual needs, aligning with curriculum and regulatory requirements.
- Use Diverse Teaching Strategies: Employ a range of teaching methods and resources that accommodate learners' varied needs, in line with institutional policies.
- Assess and Track Progress: Regularly monitor, assess, and report on student progress using tracking systems, targets, and individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support Student Development: Build trusting relationships, provide guidance, and help learners reflect on their progress and set personal goals.
- Engage Parents and Staff: Communicate with parents about student progress and collaborate with support staff and the wider team for pastoral and behavioural support.
- Ensure Compliance and Outcomes: Ensure curriculum delivery meets DfE and regulatory standards, aiming for at least good outcomes for all students.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent, Term Time Only, 39 Weeks
Hours per week: 37
Salary: £22,561.95 - £26,033.02 pro-rata (FTE £26,000 - £30,000).
